Refund policy

 

Thank you for supporting our family-owned Canadian small business for over 30 years. We truly hope you're completely satisfied with your purchase. If something isn’t right, please reach out — we’re here to help and will do our best to make it right.

These policies help us serve you fairly and sustainably in today’s retail landscape.


Returns

You may return most items within 30 days of receiving your order.

To be eligible for a return:

- Item must be unused, in original condition, and in original packaging

- All tags and components must be intact

- Must include receipt or proof of purchase

A return shipping label is included with your order. If not, please contact us.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you by email within 2–5 business days regarding your refund.


Non-Returnable Items

We do not accept returns on:

- Perishable goods (e.g., food, flowers, plants)

- Recipe books

- Personal care items (e.g., beauty products)

 

- Custom or personalized products

- Electrical parts/components

- Gift cards


How to Start a Return

Before returning an item:

1. Contact us at quality@hometechcanada.ca or call 1-888-692-6724 to request an authorization number

2. Ship returns to:

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error.

We recommend using a traceable shipping service and/or shipping insurance for items over $75. We cannot guarantee we will receive your return otherwise.


Refunds

- Approved refunds will be processed within 5–10 business days to your original payment method.

- Please note your bank or credit card provider may take additional time to post the refund.

- If your product qualified for free or flat-rate shipping, the actual shipping cost we paid will be deducted from your refund.


- Shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.

- If more than 15 business days have passed since your refund was approved, please contact us.

Partial refunds may be granted for:

- Items not in original condition (damaged or missing parts not due to our error)

- Returns requested after the 30-day window


Exchanges

We only offer exchanges for defective or damaged products.

To request an exchange:

1. Email us at quality@hometechcanada.ca

2. We will provide an authorization number


3. Send the product to:

If you'd like a different item, we recommend returning the original item and placing a new order.



Damaged or Incorrect Items

Please inspect your order upon delivery. If it is defective, damaged, or incorrect, contact us immediately at quality@hometechcanada.ca so we can make it right.


Cancellations

- Orders can be cancelled before shipment.

- Contact us immediately — email alone may not guarantee cancellation due to tight processing timelines.

- If cancelled:

 

- Credit card/PayPal orders may incur a $10 processing fee

- Debit card orders will receive a full refund

Once your order has shipped, standard return policies apply. Cancelled orders must still be returned unused and in original condition and packaging to qualify for a refund.


Warranty Support

If your item stops working due to a manufacturer defect, please email quality@hometechcanada.ca. We are happy to help determine eligibility and next steps.
Note: We are an authorized warranty centre for select brands.
